Consultation Sites/Partner Agencies
In addition to at our own Preschool for Children with Special Needs, New York Center’s Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation and Treatment Program provides services at sites run by the following partner agencies:
- Settlement Health: Settlement Health has provided high-quality, comprehensive health-care services to East Harlem since 1977. Its mission is to provide accessible and culturally sensitive preventive and primary care and to coordinate all other health services necessary. Settlement House has been designated as a Preferred Primary Care Provider by New York State and as a Federally Qualified Health Center by the federal government.
- Boys and Girls Harbor ACS Day Care Programs: Since 1974, the Harbor has provided year-round quality day care for preschool children. Currently, it serves children between 18 months and 6 years of age at three sites in East and Central Harlem: Boys and Girls Harbor/Toddler & Preschool Program, 1 East 104th Street; Harbor Oasis Day Care Center, 2211 First Avenue; and Harbor Family Horizons Center, 1330 Fifth Avenue.
- Cardinal McCloskey Services and Boys and Girls Harbor’s Family Horizons Program: A leader in the child welfare world, Cardinal McCloskey Services has a strong commitment to community-based services. New York Center works with children at risk of abuse, neglect or removal from their homes through Cardinal McCloskey’s General Program, and with those in foster care through Cardinal McCloskey’s Foster Boarding Program.
Boys and Girls Harbor’s Family Horizon Program offers a combination of home visits, center- based counseling, case management and advocacy to prevent child abuse and help overburdened parents develop the emotional and practical skills needed to provide safe, healthy and nurturing environments for their children.
