Sensory Gym

There are specific benefits to having a child participate in sensory integration therapy in a sensory gym, which cannot be achieved through home-based services. These benefits center around the specialized equipment that is available for a wider variety of treatment activities and more efficient treatment. Suspended swings, rolling scooters, climbing areas, hiding places and jumping and falling areas are just a few of the many elements of therapy that a sensory gym offers. Treatment can be altered by the minute to address the child’s ever-changing nervous system, and activities can be adapted to the child’s changing skill level. New York Center has a sensory gym in our locations in Manhattan and in the Bronx.
