Parent-Teacher Association

Parental involvement in children’s education is a key factor in educational success. New York Center is devoted to including families in the activities and events at our school. The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is a group of parents/caregivers and New York Center staff. The goal of the PTA is to encourage parents/caregivers to come to the school and get involved in school events. Parents are welcome at monthly planning meetings and/or the special events that the PTA organizes, including: the International Feast, Spring Family Day, Movie Day and Multicultural Day. Through fundraising, the PTA is also able to provide holiday parties and gifts for each of the classes, T-shirts for the students and a children’s library.

“New York Center taught me too. They sent home pamphlets and letters. Some parents talked to them every day. They had workshops at the school that taught me specifically how to work through certain situations with my son. I felt confident and comfortable there.”
