Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) Program

Our SEIT program teachers work with children in their mainstream educational programs, day care settings or in their homes. This enables our special education teachers to collaborate with mainstream preschool teachers and other professionals involved with the children’s development, as well as with parents and other caregivers.

For more information or to make a referral please contact our SEIT Intake Coordinator at 212-752-7575 X 347.

“SEITs support children with special needs in their mainstream educational settings to give them the best potential for success in the least restrictive educational environment. Children have the opportunity to interact with typically developing peers and their teachers become partners in helping them reach their developmental goals. With this kind of support, children have the potential to do very well.”
